Patna: The leaders of the senior Congress welcomed former President Jnusu Kanhaiya Kumar to their party.
They said the former Youth CPI icon would work to expand the basis of the Congress in Bihar and in the country.
Kanhaiya on Tuesday joined the Congress in front of Rahul Gandhi and other senior party leaders.
The President of the Congress of Bihar Madan Mohan Jha and the Bihar Party responsible for Bhakta Charan Das was also present on the occasion.
Praising Kanhaiya, Legislative Party leader Congress Ajit Sharma said, “He has become a former President of the JNU trade union and enjoys the support of most young men who believe in the secular nature of our country, peace and harmony.
I am sure he will help strengthen parties throughout the country “Sharma said Kanhaiya had strongly opposed the wrong policy of the Government of NDA and exposed Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
When asked about the tag of traitor (Tite-Tuke-Tukre’s gang) was attached to Kanhaiya and whether it would make the congress suffer because of that, Sharma replied, “Can Kanhaiya join BJP, he will become Dishh Bhakt (Patriot).
