Valuables worth more than RS 5 lakh stolen

Vadodara: An apartment in Kharivav Road in Dandiya Bazaar is targeted by thieves between September 25 and Monday morning.
Bhavesh’s homeowner alias Sunny Rajgire told the police that he and his wife had gone to Mumbai on September 25 when his mother-in-law was sick and was hospitalized.
On Monday morning the neighbor of Rajgire, Smita Patel noticed that the house was open and told her wife Sanjeevani.
Suspecting that their house must have been stolen, the couple rushed back to Vadodara.
When reaching his apartment, Rajgire, who worked in a multinational software company, found that the key on the iron grill and damaged wooden door.
Three iron lockers locked were damaged open and valuables from it lying on the floor.
The couple watched their gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 4.9 lakh and RS 12,000 cash stored in a lost locker.
Rajgire then filed a complaint of theft at the Raopura Police Station.
“We suspect that the thief targets the house around between Sunday night and Monday morning when neighbors don’t see anything unusual before that,” said a police officer.
