Mumbai: Trial Runs of Prototype Rakes for Metro Corridor 3 Underground (Colaba-Bandra-seepz) is being planned for early next year.
The Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday approved the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation test proposal.
The trial of The Colaba-SEEPZ Metro Rail Line 3 in Mumbai will be held underground in Marol-Maroshi, which is outside the Green Aarey belt.
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation MD Ranjit Singh Deol said, “The permission sought by the state government provides a big boost for the project.
With 97% tunneling and around 70% of civil works are completed, the start of the technical test from the prototype train is another milestone on the project.
Working to organize facilities while it will begin immediately and may take about two and a half months to complete.
The field trial will begin immediately after the train arrives.
“Line 3 33.5-km-3 will be the first underground metro line in Mumbai.
On stretching, tunnels, and road jobs end, along with putting the track.
Some civil work components, along with traction power apparatus, still remain.
The technical test of eight compartments produced by a company based in Andhra Pradesh Shree City has been completed.
This will be brought to Mumbai immediately for the trial running, CM said in a statement.
