Gurgaon: The Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) on Wednesday started a bus service between the IFFCO Chowk Metro Station and Badha Village in Sector 82.
Initially, two buses will run on this stretch and the frequency will increase after assessing footsteps, officials said .
This is the second route where the bus service continues in two days – on Tuesday, services between pilots of Rajesh Chowk and Daultabad (Route 116) have restarted.
Locals say that continuing bus services on two routes that connect new sectors will be a little profitable if the bus frequency does not increase.
Santosh Mishra, a resident of sector 82, told TII, that GMCBL needs to increase the number of vehicles that run along the route.
“Having a bus route in the newly developed gurgaon sector will definitely help citizens, but the utility will be very limited except the bus frequency increases.
Having only two buses running along these routes means remembering that they will run after a long interval.
This means who only the intends to use it must be planned well in advance, which is not always possible.
Just starting a new route is not enough, “he said.
After the bus service on two routes was stopped 18 months again considering the Coronavirus pandemic, most of the population of the newly developed Gurgaon area had to depend on private transportation.
With the absence of last-mile connectivity that is smooth, TOI has reported, going home, even going to the office, airport or train station, has become a big problem for residents.
Nishant Upadhyay, a resident of sector 84, who moved to Gurgaon from Delhi last year, said, “I prefer the bus because they are much cheaper than taxis.
I used to bring the DTC bus to my campus in Delhi.
But it’s much more comfortable because of me Know that if I miss one, then it will come in the next 10 minutes.
Here, if I plan to take a bus to my office near the signature tower, I know that I have to wait about 40 minutes if I miss one.
“Except The frequency is increasing, upadhyay added, many like he might not want to plan their travel schedule according to the bus timing.
“Initially, two buses would walk along the new route and it would have 22 stops.
The vehicle will take 50 minutes to travel from one end to the other,” said a GMCBL official on Wednesday, added that services along the route will Starting from the IFFCO Chowk metro station at 6.50 in the morning and from the 82 Badha Village sector at 7:50 a.m.
The last service will be 18.05 a night and 7.05 PM.
The 135B route, officials said, is a slightly modified version of the previous 135 GMCBL route, which operates from the Effco Metro Co.
Metro IFFCO.
On Wednesday, Pataudi MLA Satya Prakash Jrawta marked the service on the route from the 82 sector around 11am.
Welcoming the GMCBL decision to continue the bus service on two routes, Commander (Retd) Satyavir Singh, President of the Condominium Association of Mapsko Casa Bella, said it was a major development and would be proven to be “boon for connectivity and improving plantation housing in the surrounding new sector”.
Pradip Rahi, President of the Association of Ramprastha, said that bus services on the 135B route will help residents but emphasize that the bus frequency and alignment of routes are needed to be improved.
“Although the GMCBL targets the main areas of the new sectors, it will not make many impacts unless they cover at least some larger communities.
There are local transportation problems that need to be considered.
There are no automatic rickshaws in these sectors and e-rickshaws also not Easy to be available.
If anyone thinks to take a bus from our society, they have to travel almost 1.5 kilometers to the nearest stop.
If the bus runs along at least some of the larger people, they will be more effective, “said Rahi.
GMCBL currently operates on 27 routes that connect various parts of Gurgaon and Delhi and Faridabad.
This service has a low floor and CNG floor fleet.
