Kanpur: After the controversial video of Senior Mohammad Iftikharuddin, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) and former Commissioner of Kanpur Division, went Viral, former President of Rajkiya Unnayan Basti, Kalyanpur, on Wednesday accused him even once “lured him to convert to Islam” .
In viral videos, iftikharuddin can be seen telling people the benefits of adopting Islam as a religion.
Nirmal Kumar Tyagi, former President of Rajkiya Unnayan Basti, told reporters that Basti CTS in Kalyanpur, built by Britain, has around 600 to 700 families and a population of around 6,000 people.
In October 2016, the Convoy Commissioner Division Mohammad Mohammad Mohammadudin reached CTS Basti.
Residential residents were told that they had to empty the place, because this land would be used for the Metro project.
Tyagi accused when he requested Commissioner not to destroy their homes by remembering their poor financial conditions, the commissioner began to lure him to convert to Islam by offering money to him.
“When the commissioner made this suggestion, someone who was present there began to give him literature related to Islam,” Tyagi added.
“Some conversion efforts are carried out in solutions.
However, the locals decided that they would not accept the offer,” he said.
“When they approached the court about the issue of emptying the settlement, the crisis was resolved.
Apart from this, a chaubeypur resident kept in touch with the population for a while, but then stopped visiting the settlement,” Tyagi added.
