Patna: Criss-cross lines of high tension cable from Malahi Pakri to Patliputra Interstate Bus Terminal (ISBT), Mithapur to Khemnichak and Danapur to Patliputra are set to go underground and the transformer that touches the road will be moved to make the road for the elevated.
Metro Patna Rail Network.
Bihar State Holding Limited Company (BSPHCL) has not had an objection (NOC) certificate to Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) to put underground cable and cable and transformer relocation on three stretches.
Once free of overhead electrical cables, the city sky along with the metro network will change the way the country’s capital looks at least throughout the stretch where it will run in the first phase.
The Metro train will run overhead on the initial 6.63km stretch, which includes five high stations – new ISBT Patliputra, Zero Mile, Bhootnath, Khemnichich (stations that can be exchanged) and Malahi Pakri.
The first phase, which is also called priority corridor, is part of the corridor II and is likely to be ready in 2023.
PMRCL officials said work to remove hanging cables had begun from Malahi Pakri and Khemnichak with the help of BSPHCL engineers.
“We have received approval to put underground cable to make their way to increase the corridor’s second route.
Three stretches will be free of overhead cable cable at the end of October.
The work of pillars and construction pillars to make the base for the elevated track has occurred between Malahi Pakri To Patliputra Isbt.
India National Highway Authority (NHAI) has also provided the NOC for the construction of the network elevated by more than NH-20, “the official said.
According to an official in the urban and housing department, 5% of work on the Metro Patna project has been completed so far.
“PMRCL will accelerate the project after getting funds from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency,” he added.
“For funds, we need land and the process for land acquisition has begun.
The land is likely to be acquired in December after the work will collect speed.
For underground networks, tunnels and stations, we need more funds.
At present, we work in the corridor Priority because there is a crisis fund, “the official said.
Soil testing and topographic surveys have begun on stretches that are elevated between Danapur and Patliputra in corridor I.
Construction work is likely to begin after the survey.
My corridor will be 17.9 km from Danapur to Khemnenichack through Mithapur, where 7.3km will increase and 10.5 km underground.
Corridor II, which 14.5 km long from Patna Junction to new ISBT, will have an underground stretch of 7.9 km.
