New Delhi: BJP President JP Nadda on Saturday said that party workers throughout the country will visit the Khadi shop from October 2 to 7 and buy local-made products to promote their use.
To mark the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, Nadda visited Khadi’s shop in the national capital and bought Khadi products from there.
The BJP leader said that to build India Impian Gandhi, the Modi government focused on grams of swaraj, cleanliness and making independent countries.
He said that under the mode government, as many as 11 crore toilets were built which were empowered by women.
Likewise, Nadda said, the use of Khadi increased 188 percent after 2014, while production jumped by 101 percent and sales of 129 percent.
All of this was seen in the turnover of Khadi which was the RS 96,000 Crore in 2020-21, the highest, Nadda told reporters, and added that around 6 lakh work was produced with a surge in use of this Khadi.
He announced that BJP workers throughout the country will visit Khadi’s shop starting October 2 to October 7 to promote its use.
President BJP said the use of higher Khadi helped strengthen the swaraj gram and made India Mandiri.
In a similar movement to promote Khadi, the leader of the Party and Minister of Union Dharmendra Pradhan tried his hand in Charcha Spinning, Symbol and Logo Khadi.
Other party leaders and trade union ministers conducted a sanitation drive as part of the Swachh Bharat campaign launched by the Modi government in 2014 about the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth.
As part of the campaign, Minister of Union Anurag Thakur made a sanitation drive in Dharamshala, while his deputy in Information and Broadcasting Services L Murugan cleared the place of all Indian radio using a broom.
