Kanpur: A carrier of the Young Jamajwadi Party office was shot dead allegedly by a colleague of a similar affiliate in the Barra area here, a senior police officer said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Friday night and the dead person had been identified as a harvested Yadav (20), a law student and Damodar Nagar in Barra.
Yadav recently made the Vice President of the Samajwadi District Yuvjan Sabha from Kanpur, said an official.
The police, however, claimed to have arrested the Prime defendant Shivendra Singh (23), who had affiliates with SP, on Saturday morning in a meeting.
Kanpur Police Commissioner ASIM Arun said the defendant acknowledged his crime during interrogation.
Singh and Yadav have gone together outside for drinks and they compete for some problems related to liquor.
Singh, who was angry took the illegal gun in his ownership and opened fire hard, which sustained a bullet injury in his head, his forehead and stomach, resulted in his death, police said.
