Vadodara: A 54-year-old married man was arrested on Friday for allegedly killing a woman from Sankheda with whom he was having an affair.
Local Crime Branch (LCB) Chhota Udepur Police accused Ramesh Panchal, a resident of Jambughoda in Panchmahal, based on CCTV camera recordings and detailed records of calls from women who died, Leela Bariya.
During the interrogation, Panchal told the police that he was bored with Bariya’s demands that were unrelenting to shop and money so he killed him on September 28 at Sankheda-Handod Road in the Udepur Chhota.
The police said that Pancral matched Bariya’s throat repeatedly with a barber razor which was later found near his body by the researchers.
“The defendant and the victims were married and had their own families.
But every time the defendant will reach his workplace at the Bodeli, the victim will call him ask him to take him out to the market to shop,” In-Charge Inspector Inspector H Raulji from LCB.
Panchus is used to work in engineering companies as welders for RS350 daily wages.
Panchal told the police that with his little income, it was difficult to meet Bariya’s demands and run his own home.
However, Panchal spent more than Rs 12,000 for Bariya.
Panchal was in improvement because he couldn’t even break up with Bariya because he used to threaten to reach his home and told his family about their forbidden relationship.
He then decided to hit him and took him to Pavagadh on September 8.
Panchus plans to kill him there, but because there is a big crowd, he can’t succeed.
On September 28, the Duo met as usual on Jalan Sankheda-Handod near an old stepmother.
Because no one around, Panchus grabbed the moment and threw Bariya’s throat and escaped from there.
