New Delhi: Delhi Police have asked their officers to ensure that barricades avoided in accident-prone areas, traffic combining points and loops in the city.
The police said this was done to curb the traffic reported during checking.
Police Delhi, in a recent order, wrote, “Barricading must be avoided in an area that is prone to accident, intersection, intersection, turn, point merger, near the bus stop, flyover, loop and other places where clinder clungking is more Height even during the duration of a short check.
“This city has identified more than 100 accident-prone zones.
An officer said they used a barricade to keep law and order in the city.
“We always remember that there is no inconvenience for the public.
But there is a situation when we have to place a barricade to catch criminals or to stop the crime,” said a DCP officer.
Meanwhile, zone officers or traffic inspectors from the relevant traffic circle and Ato (anti-terrorist officers) from a police station were directed to check the barricade points regularly to ensure no traffic buildup.
“Barrikades is not unmanned or abandoned.
Inspector (or traffic and traffic) must inform each control room every time the traffic buildup is observed,” read orders.
According to the police, the placement of barricades by local police should not be done routinely.
“District DCP district approval in DCP consultation (traffic) is needed.
The right time and place of examination must be styed into the PCR command room and the examination hours must be for a period of reasonable,” read.
The district police are directed to ensure that the barricade, which is placed by them, do not cause unnecessary traffic jams or discomfort for the general public.
Other officers said that in some cases, barricades were placed when they received input on the criminal movement in the area.
According to orders, staff are also directed to maintain a checklist where they can enter the details of the driver and the number of vehicle registration checked.
