Ahmedabad: Pandemic Covid-19 saw many patients on the recovery path suddenly collapsed and then several extraordinary turns where the patient returned from the ravine.
The Naman Maheshwari case, a 26-year-old rental accountant, might be the case of a textbook from what everything was wrong with Corona patients and still he became a magical recovery.
Mahehswari spent almost half a year at the hospital – 155 days right until Sunday – and had lived to tell the story.
With mere resilience and determination to live, young professionals from Rajasthan have defeated almost every complication of Covid-19 known and finally started walking and talking.
He will be dismissed and sent home soon.
Maheshwari has survived no one except two cytokine storms, three stabs in their severely damaged lungs and even secondary and bacterial fungal infections.
He also received a very weak virus infection of the Guillain-Barré syndrome.
He had spent almost four months in the ICU where he was connected to a ventilator for more than three months.
Sunita’s mother remembers everything starts with a simple bodyache and fever.
“After his grandmother, the Naman tested positive on April 23.
He became panting and we had to admit it at Udaipur Hospital before things worse and we rushed to Ahmedabad,” said Sunita who has lived with him the only son in Epic Hospital since That’s April 28.
Naman experienced a cytokine storm in early May and was given toilizumab.
Next month, he again suffered a frightening inflammatory reaction – which has proven fatal for many people – but recovered.
“His concern is like a textbook case from what can be wrong – he gets a lot of secondary infections including fungi and bacteria, getting barotrauma or lungs breaking three times and even undergoing laparoscopic procedures to remove parts of the outer layer of lungs that are very affected,” Dr.
Ajay Jain, Pulmonologist, and a critical care specialist in Epic Hospital.
“In August, he also developed the Guillain-Barr (GB) syndrome where the immune system attacked the nervous system and made weak muscles and numbness.” Overall, the NANAN spent almost four months in the ICU and more than three months in the ventilator.
Because of his condition, a tube was inserted from his throat to the stomach to give him a liquid diet.
He still needs oxygen, but now he can move himself, take food orally and also speak for a limited time.
The doctors edited their families as their rock-solid support system which made a call difficult to approve medical procedures.
“This is a very painful and difficult trip.
But from the start, I convinced myself for the long term in the hospital.
I don’t count the day or complain about my condition.
I have confidence in the doctor and God.
This episode makes me closer to My parents were there since April, prayed for my recovery, “said Naman.
“I only have one message for all – don’t take Covid lightly.
Don’t let your guard slip.
If it’s not Covid, there might be something else for years.
Follow the rules of cleanliness and exercise for more time.”
