BHARUCH: Congress leader and seven others were ordered by police Bharuch on Sunday night to deceive cooperative Sugar Rs 85 Crore.
The leader of the Surjitshinh Mangra congress, who is the former Chair of Shri Ganesh Khand Udyog Sahakari Mandal Ltd (SGKUSML), was arrested by the police on Monday.
The police said that it was investigating the role that was accused and more arrest would follow.
According to the complaint submitted by Pushpendrasinh Sunva, a member of SGKUSML, Mangrola committed fraud from 2008 to 2020.
Mangrola was the chairman of the cooperative community during this period.
Sunva said that Mangrola misused its position to conduct sugar cooperative financial transactions and suck money.
Sunva said in his complaint that Mangrola violated the rules by using his personal agent to buy sugar on credit from the cooperative community.
Mangra has been accused of several such transactions on behalf of His institution and sell sugar at higher prices to other institutions.
Also, the defendant sold molasses to various institutions at low prices and also made a fake purchase order.
The complainant said that fraud amounted to RS 46 Crores.
Sunva further said in his complaint that the defendant also committed fraud in a plant loan given to farmers.
The complaint stated that Sunva and other accused of getting a loan in the cooperative community account and the money was channeled to nominal members who did not qualify for loans.
According to the complainant, the total fraud included the amount of loan money to Rs 85 Crores.
Sunva said in a complaint that they had approached Valiya police in July and then apply for police applications at Bharuch SP office in August this year.
