Yadav, Gandhi’s arrest triggered protest, threw traffic out of the equipment

Varanasi: Following the arrest of the Jamajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav and Secretary General of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Lucknow ahead of their visit to Lakhimpur Kheri, activists from both parties held massive protests in various parts of the city on Monday.
Various groups of SP leaders and workers held a massive demonstration on the road, including the group led by the SP City Unit President Vishnu Sharma, Dr.
OP Singh, and other senior leaders gathered at the district headquarters.
The police deployed in the area tried to convince leaders to stop arrests, but were unsuccessful.
Police Commissioner Satish Ganesh said that around 125 demonstrators were arrested from Kutchehri, Maidagin, Maldahiya and other parts of the city and sent to the police line.
They were released by submission of private bonds, police said, added that further action to disrupt traffic and law and order will begin by the police station immediately.
One other group led by Yuvajan District Head Sabha Kiswan Dixit, conducted a parade of peace from Dav College to Maidagin Crossing and Courted Arrest.
Similar protests were also reported by SP men in other parts of the city, rural areas and adjoining districts.
Against the arrest of Priyanka Gandhi, the leaders of the Congress, including the National Secretary of the Rajesh Tiwari Party, former Minister of Ajay Rai, former Member of the Rajesh Mishra parliament, Head of Rajeshwar Patel District and City President Raghvendra Chaubey was gradually, after blocking Maldahiya’s intersection.
Then, they were also arrested and sent to the police line.
Activists Sanyucta Kiswa Morcha also conducted a torch procession to support farmers’ agitation and protested the deaths of farmers at Lakhimpur Kheri.
The series of protests throughout the city, the crowd of competitive examination students and their guards, coupled with pilgrims who entered the city to perform the Ritual Pitrapaksha, along with the reopening of the market, leaving the streets very crowded, remove the traffic out.
ADCP (Traffic) Dinesh Kumar Puri said that these reasons have left all the roads crowded since morning and despite involving the great power of traffic police and also civilian police traffic moves at the speed of snail until night.
