New Delhi: The day after Facebook reported global blackouts for more than six hours on Monday, said the social media giant on Tuesday that it was triggered by a system that manages the “global backbone network capacity”.
In a blog post, Facebook said the program audit tool has a bug, and fails to stop commands that cause blackouts.
Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp services, which fall around 16:00 hours GMT, start returning around 22:00.
“Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger will return online now.

According to downdetector, a web site that tracks whatsapp blackouts, 40 percent of users cannot download the application, 30 percent have problems sending messages and 22 percent have problems with the web version.
