Chennai: The expert panel from the center of urbanization, building & environment (cube) has found a major deviation in the construction of KP parking plots in Pulianthope consisting of four multi-floor building blocks.
Deviations include the use of msand for plaster.
Cube, a body raised with IIT Madras and the state government, studied residential units for more than a month and submitted a report to the Urban Development Board of Tamil Nadu Habitat (TNUHDB) on Monday.
Sumber Tnuhdb said the 441 page report had found several deviations in construction, including plastering.
Contractors, Engineering Construction P S T, are responsible for repairing damage according to the agreement.
“We started actions against the contractor for irregularities in implementing the project.
In addition, the cube will also carry out a similar inspection on other ongoing projects from the construction of engineering P s TS with TNUHDB,” said an official.
The first phase of the K P Park scheme, which consisted of a total of 864 residential units, spread over four blocks each with Stilt + 9 floors.
Two months ago, residents complained about peeling and damaging plaster in the public area, after TNUHDB which pointed to the cube panel to check the structure.
In addition, the Board has appointed 10 educational institutions, including IIT Madras and Nit Trichy, to examine around 20 ongoing projects in Tamil Nadu.
