Bhubaneswar: Farmers’ clothes under the Aegis Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), a front part of the farmer’s clothing, held a demonstration here on Monday protested the murder of farmers at Uttar Pradesh.
They also demanded the withdrawal of agricultural law.
The car which is part of the State Minister of Union for the Ajay Mishra Tennis convoy allegedly cut four farmers during a black flag protest in Tikunia at UPS Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday afternoon.
Farmers accused that the son of the minister led the convoy.
The leaders of farmers came out in the procession starting from the master canteen box to reduce PMG here demanding intense action against the people involved in the murder of the farmers above.
SKM member Suresh Panigrahy said the case must be presented by a special investigation team monitored by the Supreme Court (sitting).
People involved in murders need to be ordered based on part 302 IPC.
The state minister for the house of Ajay Mishra Teni must resign and adequate compensation must be given to the next relatives of the peasants who died, he added.
Khirod Singhdeo, another SKM member, said exemplary punishment must be given to the people involved in the alleged killing of farmers.
This movement grows beyond central expectations.
If the government approved the demands of farmers, such situations would not appear.
Therefore, the center is responsible for this incident, he added.
Prafulla Samantara activist said it was a war directly against farmers.
“The government wants to suppress the voices of farmers through violence.
But this incident will be boomerang for ruling party leaders.
We will intensify movement in the days to come,” he added.
