Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TNAU), which has received 42,000 strange applications to enter undergraduate programs so far, have extended the last date to upload an online application of 11 days to 18 October.
Previously, TNAU had improved October 7 deadlines to send an online application.
There is a slight decrease in the number of applications received so far, compared to last year, when more than 45,000 applications have landed before the university extends the time limit to send an online application.
Overall, TNAU has received 49,000 applications last year.
“We might receive more applications this year,” said a senior university official.
M Kalyasundaram, Dean (agriculture) and chairman (receipt), said there were several requests from prospective parents of students to extend the deadline for submission of the application.
TNAU offers 12 undergraduate programs through 18 constituents and 28 affiliated colleges.
Online applications are invited from September 8 “said Kalyasundaram.
According to him, many parents are also interested in recognizing their wards to the Tamil medium courses to be introduced from this year.
