Guwahati: After hesitating days, Congress closed the chapter about in line with Raijor Dal on Tuesday by announcing the names of candidates for the five seats for Bypolls on October 30 in the state.
In developing late on Tuesday, AICC announced candidates for Bhabanipur and Mariani chairs.
In Thowra’s constituency that was considered in the upper assam, it had stated his candidate before that day.
While Sailendra Nath Das and Luhit Konwar each will contest from Bhabanipur and Mariani, in Thowra, ManoRanjan Konwar, has been lowered.
AICC on Monday night announced a list of candidates for Thowra’s three seats, Gossiigaon and Tamulpur, but left Bhabanipur in Assam lower for RD, as requested by Assam PCC.
However, RD was referred to as a betrayal by Congress as a regional party really wanted Thowra and not Bhabanipur.
“We will wait for their response and announce candidates for the Bhabanipur seat too tomorrow,” said PCC President Bhupen Borah previously on Tuesday.
He insisted that the nomination of Congress for Thowra would not be withdrawn.
While the congress has given a ticket to Jowel Tudu in Gossiigaon, in Tamulpur, it has nomined Bhaskar Dahal.
“Once the President of Congress Sonia Gandhi decided something at the AICC level, it was impossible to reconsider,” Borah said to Thowra adjacent to Sizhil, represented by Akhil.
Congress has stated candidates for Mariani, a party fortress.
Against Heavyweight BJP candidates such as Sushanta Borghain (Thowra) and Rupjyoti Kurmi (Mariani), Congress has not been able to lay a prominent face, but Borah claims that grassroots are satisfied.
Except for Bhaskar Dahal, which has become a media panelist and PCC Assam secretary, the other two are district level leaders.
Manorajan is Secretary General of the Sivasagar and Tudu District Congress is a local leader of Kokrajhar.
RD has lowered Akhil’s Close Aide Daijjya Konwar from Thowra but still hasn’t been redecuted back to Mariani.
Akhil previously said that RD may not be the field of candidates from Mariani if Congress agreed to bargaining Thowra seats.
“Congress will not be a factor in Thowra when their candidates are cut off from the masses.
Raijor Dal will defeat BJP candidates who turned out to be opponents after winning the latest assembly elections on Congress tickets,” Dhaijjya said.
