Kolkata: Sabyasachi Dutta, Trinamool Congress Twice Rajarhat-New Town MLA and former Mayor of Bidhannagar who defected BJP in 2019 and was valued at nominations in the recent Assembly poll, returned to TMC after two years on Thursday.
Dutta, which is BJP Bengal Secretary, called his defeat “emotional decision due to misunderstanding”.
Dutta, who met with the chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee in his violent room, was formally appointed again by the Senior Leader of TMC Parha Chatterjee and Firhad Judge.
Dutta was defeated in the Assembly poll at Bidhannagar by Sujit Bose with a slim margin of 7,997 votes.
After his poll victory, Bose was valued by the rank of state minister in the Bengal Cabinet.
