Bhubaneswar: The trial court in Khurda on Friday rejected the anticipatory assurance application from Suspended BJD MLA from Chilika, Prashanta Kumar Jagadev, ordered by Balugon police for allegedly attacking BJP leaders on September 8.
District Judge Court & Additional Session -Cum Special Judge (SCST case) sent Jagadev to Jadotized Jadyi in Khurda Sub-prison, where he complained of a sudden illness and was treated at a prison hospital.
“We are waiting for a doctor’s reply.
If the prison doctor refers to another hospital outside the prison, we will shift him,” said a police officer.
The Orissa High Court has been on October 6, directed Jagadev to surrender before the High Court in Khurda and filed a guarantee.
Jagadev has moved the High Court, seeking anticipatory guarantee.
He was ordered below section 341 (wrong painting), 294 (obscene action), 323 (voluntarily caused injury), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (actions carried out by several people with general intentions) from the Criminal Code and Part 3 (1R ) / 3 (1s) SC and ST (Prevention of cruelty) acts.
Jagadev, twice BJD MLA, is famous for its naughty behavior and other crimes in public places.
During hearing bail, prosecution attracted the attention of the court to the criminal background of Jagadev.
At least 11 cases are registered against it with various police stations in the state.
Jagadev was first chosen to the Assembly on a BJD ticket from the Beggia chair in 2014 and for the second time from Chilika in 2019.
Most of the cases are registered with them related to attack and violations with people in public places in public places.
According to police records, the first case was registered with him in 1992 with the Khurda police station.
