Pune: The district government has set the target of doing at least 20,000 tests every day in rural areas in the previous weeks of the Dasara and Diwali because the level of covid weekly is higher than in civilian limits.
District collector Pune Rajesh Deshmukh on Wednesday issued orders to increase the collection of swabs in all rural and sub-district hospitals and in primary health centers, in addition to directing laboratories to update reports every day or face.
About 96 rustic hospitals, sub-district hospitals and primary health centers in rural areas have been given a daily target of collecting samples.
“Nearly 146 centers in rural areas have been directed to set a test target of 100 to 300 people every day to reach the target.
All contacts are at high and low risk and super spreaders must be tested,” said Dr Milind Kulkarni, nodal officers for testing in this district.
At present, testing ranges from 10,000 and 15,000 every day in rural areas.
From them, 70% is a RT-PCR test and 30% is a quick antigen test (mouse).
The rural area continues to register a higher level of WEP (WPR) level of 3.6% this week also opposes around 2% in the city.
The average WPR for Pune District is 3.01%.
“So, we have set a target to increase testing in rural areas,” Kulkarni said.
He said while RT-PCR data was being fed a laboratory, rat data updates took the time because of the lack of staff in many centers.
The district government has extended help to the centers directed at feeding later.
District health officials connect a higher WPR from Pune on the ICMR portal to the delay in feeding data and negative RT-PCR reports.
“Actual efforts to ensure that data is included every day by providing all assistance in terms of increasing labor,” said an official.
An official from the Rural Health Center said several employees were appointed based on contracts to the key – in the data during the first wave and both pandemic.
“Their contract has been stopped.
So, the data entry is being postponed.
We have been looking for additional staff,” the official said.
