New Delhi: A 32-year-old man shot dead his wife and his mother-in-law in Baba Haridas Nagar in Dwarka on Saturday.
The police, who had arrested the defendant claimed that he was disturbed by regular arguments with his wife and mother-in-law.
The defendant, identified as Mahesh, worked as investors.
According to the police, they received PCR’s calls about murder around 9.45 a night on Saturday.
The police reached the place and found the body of two women, who had been shot dead.
During the probe, officers found the defendant standing in a crime.
The police questioned him about his identity.
“In response, he told us that he had done his job by killing his wife and mother-in-law,” said an officer.
The accusation was arrested and taken to the police station.
The deceased was identified as Nidhi (21) and his mother Beero (55).
The police said that they had recovered eight empty cartridges from that place.
“The autopsy report will erase the fact that around the number of times both are shot,” added the officer.
DCP (Dwarka) Shankar Chaudhary said Nidhi and Mahesh had a love wedding in January 2020 against their parents’ wishes.
“Mahesh and his wife began living with his mother-in-law, but as soon as their marriage, the problem began between the couple,” DCP said.
The police said there was a constant argument between husband and wife at home and beer used to support his daughter during such an argument.
“We have found different reasons behind the argument, including one of them is that Mahesh does not support the family financially.
Another problem is related to their half-year-old child.
The woman used to tell her that she would take care of the child in her prisoner,” said Officers added that all such facts were examined.
On Saturday, after another quarrel, Mahesh pulled out the gun and shot the two women.
Joint Commissioner (West Range) Atul Katiyar said a case had been registered and further investigation was underway.
