Bengaluru / Kalaburagi: The Chairman of the Minister of Bumavaraj Bommai said on Sunday that he had urged the center to the fast road for two blocks of coal allocated to Karnataka so that the crisis of power related to coal deficiency can be avoided.
There is a significant focus on securing blocks and coal supplies due to concerns about existing shares.
The three main thermal power stations in the state have a reserve that is expected to last for 48 hours, officials said.
The central government has given coal block carnataka near Chandrapur in Maharashtra and another in Mahanadi, Odisha.
Bommai has asked the Minister of Comparative for the Environment and Forest of Bhupender Yadav to provide the earliest approval.
“Both blocks given to Karnataka need certain permits.
For example, the Chandrapur coal field requires a letter from PCCF [Head of the Head of Forest Conservator] Maharashtra.
When I talked to him yesterday, the United Minister assured me that permission would be given soon.
I hope this will be done in A week, “he said.
In the Batubara Mahanadi block status, Bommai said that the mine had needed permission and is currently managed by others.
“We have convinced Jadav that we don’t need to get fresh permission for this block.
He assured me that he would see the file and did what was needed,” Bommai added.
CM has discussed issues with YADAV and Coal Ministers and the Joshi Pralhad Mine.
Bommai said that the inclusion of two blocks would make Karnataka more independent in terms of coal supply.
The main objective is to secure Chandrapur coal blocks because the available rail link will reduce transportation costs substantially.
“We have asked Joshi to allocate two additional rakes [one sweeping equal to 4,000 tons] and he has directed the officials concerned to do what is needed,” he said.
Run in smoke? According to officials, Raichur and Ballari Thermal Station has a stock that will last for 48 hours.
The situation is the same at Yermarus electric station.
At the Raichur plant, only three of the eight functions.
At Ballari Station, only one in four units is functioning.
