Chennai: Larger Chennai City Police will have 104 police stations including Chennai Airport under his jurisdiction in the larger city of Chennai.
The city had previously had 137 police stations below its limits.
Commissioner Avadi will function with 20 police stations from the existing Chennai police and five police stations from the Tiruvallur and Tambaram District Commissioner (Tambaram will function with 13 police stations from Greater Chennai City, two police stations from Kancheepuram and Lima from Chengalpattu Regency.
Two special officers M Ravi and Sandeep Rai Rathore for the new Commissioner Tambaram and Avadi were also asked to send detailed proposals for further requirements such as the strength needed for armed reserves, special units, equipment requirements, furniture, details needed for accommodation, mobility, communication etc.
Proposal initial Regarding the Jurisdiction of Avadi and Tambaram Commissioner and the way it will be monitored with officers will reach the office of the National Police Chief within a week.
20 police stations under Tambaram Cop – Tambaram, Chromepet, Pallavaram, Selaiyur, Chitlax, Kundrathur, Sankar Nagar, Perumbakkam, Palikaranai , Kannagi Nagar, Semmencherry, right ATHUR, and two stations of Kancheepuram – Somangalm, Manimalim along with five stations of Chengalpattu – Kelambakkam, Otteri (near Vandalur), Gunduvancherry, Marimalar Nagar and Thalambur.
25 Stations Under Avadi Cop – Colony Milk, Red Hills, Manali, Sathangadu, Kota Baru, Mangadu, Poonamalee, Nazratpet, Muthapudupet, Pattabiram, Aljamture, Thiratuverkadu, SRMC, Avadi, Tank Factory, Thirumuliaivoyil, Thirunidraoor along with five stations from Tiruvallur – Vellaivedu, Sevvapetai, Sholavaram, Minjur and Cattrate.
