Women should not come out alone during Navratri: Police

Vadodara: Even when Gujarat is often described as the safest country for women, Vadodara rural police believe that for the safety of their own women should not roam alone during Navratri, especially at that time it was celebrated at the door of people and not in large places.
Ironically it might be seen, the police have emphasized precautions and safety as the main occupants of the list of 11 instructions posted on the Vadodara Rural Polda Facebook page.
In the list, the 10th instruction mentions: “For women’s safety during Navratri, if possible do not go alone and if necessary, call Helpline Women 181.” Speaking with Toi about the Instruction, the Vadodara Rural Police Supervisor, Dr.
Sudhir Desai said, “I will get it (instructions) checked.
It depends on how to be interpreted, but I will get this checked and repaired.” Other instructions are to celebrate only until midnight , not collecting more than 400 people, following the Covid-19 guidelines, the use of masks and cleaners, maintaining social distance when dancing, and also if possible, visit the vaccine place only if the two doses of the vaccakary.
Given.
This list also suggested following the instructions of organizers and contacted the police control room or the nearest police station for harassment with anti-social elements.
“These instructions are quite problematic.
Instead of asking women to take precautions and do not go alone, the police must ensure that there are quite a lot of police there so that women who rejoice feel safe,” said Simran Desai, a resident of Manjalpur.
Desai added that the state has a unique image in the country of women’s freedom to move safely at any time and night.
