Bhubaneswar: The country on Sunday reported 652 cases, up from 526 which was detected the day before, encouraging health experts to urge caution.
Although the positivity test (TPR) test remained below 1% (0.97%) with positive cases that emerged from 66,643 samples played, the increased number had raised concerns in front of festive days.
“This is a worrying trend, especially with the celebration season in front.
Strict alertnesses need to be enforced,” said Ajay Parida, Director, Institute of Life Sciences (ILS).
Khurda Regency reported 331 cases with Bhubaneswar registering 159.
The government on Sunday confirmed seven more Covid deaths, increasing the number of victims to 8,249.
