3 India Cos can build 29 Metro Underground STN in Chennai

Chennai: Three Indian companies – Larsen & Tubro, Tata Project and Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon – tend to build 29 underground stations that will connect the northern and south suburbs with city core locations through a metro train network without drivers.
Recently, the three companies emerged as the lowest bidder when CMRL opened a financial offer for five tenders floating for the construction of the station.
All 29 stations are part of a 45.8 km corridor from Colony Milkhavaram milk to Siruseri Sippot which will have a total of 49 stations.
Phase-2 118.9km Project is expected to be ready in 2026.
Officials said L & T appeared as the lowest bidder on three tenders floating for the construction of five stations from KMC to Royapettah and the diaphragm wall of underground stations in Royapettah Govery and Chetpet, five underground stations Others from the crossing of Radhakrishnan Salai to Adyar Junction and three stations of the Adyar Depot to Taramani Link Ramp and the Diaphragm Thiruvanmiyur Metro wall.
The lowest bidder procedure project appeared in the tender to build five stations from Madhavaram to the walls of the painting and diaphragm of two stations of Madhavaram Colony Milk and Murari Hospital.
Dra Infracon emerged the lowest bidder to build four stations from Ayanavaram to Kelly and diaphragm walls on two stations – Ayanavaram and Purasaiwalkam.
The fifth tender has a deadline of four to 4.7 years.
The contract to build a tunnel that will connect these stations is given to Tata and L & T projects earlier this year.
The preliminary work to build a station box and entry point for stations such as the Royapettah government hospital has begun.
“We have started working on the land obtained for the YMCA playground.
We will soon be a portion of the Royapettah Government Hospital to build points in the station,” said an official on the site.
After the corridor is ready, it will connect the northern edge with the IT corridor on OMR, both of which are not related to public transportation.
