Villupuram / Tirunelveli: The State Election Commission will begin the vote count surveyed by rural local bodies in nine districts who were reorganized from 8am at 74 calculation centers on Tuesday.
The commission will declare the results online on the website https://tnsec.nic.in as and when the results are announced.
The local rural body poll was held at 27,003 posts in nine districts in two phases.
In the first phase on October 6, the Commission conducted a poll to select 78 Ward Panchayat members, 755 Ward Panchayat members, 1,577 President of Panchayat Village and 12,252 Ward Panchayat members.
In the second phase on October 9, the Commission held a poll to select 62 members of the Pancrayat Environment, 626 Ward Panchayat members, 1,324 President Panchayat Village and 10,329 members of Panchayat Village.
The first phase recorded 77.4% poll while the second phase was registered 78.5% polling.
Close to 80,000 candidates were in a commotion and 2,981 of them, including 119 Panchayat Union Presidents Village, five members of the Fire Panchayat Union and two members of the Panchayat District Union Bangsal, declared elected uncommon.
The election to Panchayat Village President Post was stopped by the court and polls for members of the Panchayat Union Ward, two Panchayat villages of the President and 21 villages of Ward Panchayat members were not held as no nominations submitted or all candidates, who submitted their nominations to attract their nominations.
The Commission will deploy 31,245 officials for vote counting and 6,228 police personnel for security arrangements.
The ballot box stored in a strong room will be arranged in a designated sorting room in the presence of candidate agents before sending a box to the calculation center.
The whole process will be carried out under the supervision of CCTV.
Observers for Tirunelveli and Tenkasi District – J Jayakanthan and P Sankar each reviewed a meeting with each district collector, officers who returned, assistant officers who returned and other officials on Sunday and Monday on calculation settings.
They direct officials to ensure the availability of generators for power supply without interruption at the calculation center.
They also insist on 100% video surveillance in all calculation centers to ensure very easy arrangements.
