Rajkot: Two people, including an engineer, was killed and three others were injured when the overhead container was filled with raw materials, falling on them at the Soda Ash Chemicals Saurashtra manufacturing facility, Nirma Group unit, on Wednesday.
This is the second industrial accident at the factory in the past two months.
After the incident, the work at the factory has been suspended with the direct effect under the order of the Probanda district of Probanda a M Sharma, which also ordered an investigation into the incident.
According to the police, the accident occurred when repair work occurred in an overhead container where raw materials were poured through a conveyor belt.

The deceased included Hiren Agreature Engineer (29) and Pratap Odedara Workers (30).
While Hiren died at that place, Pratap surrendered to injury at the Rajkot civil hospital.
Of the three injured workers, someone is very important and is being treated at a civil hospital Rajkot.
Two other workers were received at Porbandar civil hospital.
The source said that the district industrial safety officer had completed a safety training program in Saurashtra Chemicals last week.
This training was conducted to create awareness among workers after an industrial accident at a cement plant in Ranavav last month.
“Deputy Director of Industrial Security is conducting an investigation.

This factory is located on Jalan Porbandar-Veraval and employs more than 2,000 workers.
