Nagpur: Amid concerns over the deficiency of coal and its impact on Western Western Power Plants (WCL), the main supplier of the state-owned electricity company Mahagenco – has 4.71 million tons (MT) from Pitheads.
Hypothesically, if the WCl stops production from now and continues to supply at the current level, there is enough coal to last for one month, the source said.
WCl based in Nagpur is a subsidiary of Indian coal Limited.
Every day, it is a 1.5 lakh ton of coal mine (0.15 mt).
The financial year began with the stock opening stock of 14.84 MT in April 1.
Users, especially generation companies, were also asked to lift stocks on time.
On October 12, WCl was left with coal which had been mined by 4.71 MT.
Fresh quantity continues to be extracted.
In 2020 it was considered a deviation because industrial activities had been beaten because of covid-induced locking.
WCL was left with 11.73 MT coal on October 2020.
The opening stock in April 2020 was 14.30 mt.
If 2019, which is a normal year, is considered, the remaining shares on the date are still higher.
On October 12, 2019, WCl was left with a 3.17MT coal.
This means that despite higher crises and power demand, WCL is left with additional coal 1.54mt during fiscal is currently compared to 2019, the source said.
Of the total production, more than 80% went to the electricity sector, said the source.
Even off-take in the year runs higher than the previous fiscal.
Until now, as many as 30.60 MT coal has been appointed from this fiscal WCL mine.
In 2020, 20.62 MT was appointed and it was more than 25 MT on the same date in 2019.
The source said this showed enough inventory for at least Mahagenco and other electrical sector units connected with WCl.
The source said even 2021 has emerged as another year in WCL operations.
More than 80% of Mahagenco’s requirements come from WCl.
It also gets a smaller amount of other CIL subsidiaries such as MCL and SECL in Odisha and Chhattisgarh, respectively.
On Thursday night, the generation by Mahagenco coal-coal units reached 5,960 MW.
Mahagenco plants have a total capacity of more than 13,000 MW.
From this, more than 10,000 MW is the thermal power produced by burning coal.
Private plants produce more than 5,800 MW at 7:30 p.m.
on Thursday.
From here, 2,800 MW came from Plant Adani Power in Tiroda in the Gondia District.
It’s very close to the total capacity of 3,300 MW.
The company has a power purchase agreement (PPA) of 3,085 MW sales to the state government.
Tiroda factory has been able to maintain the average level of electricity generation so far, said a source here.
In a normal course, it produces 2,200 to 2,500 MW.
The majority goes to the state government.
The NTPC plant in Moula has a capacity of 2,320 MW.
On Thursday it produced more than 1,800 MW.
It has taken 3.5 mt tons of coal so far, which is 2 lakh tons less than quota.
