Chennai: Police on Friday arrested a man and sister with two other people in the family including their mother kidnapped, in an action of revenge, a 21-year-old man in the Autorickshaw and dumped it at Bank River Adyar after he tied his hands and legs.
While a court sent Karthik, 24, and Devi, 32, for prison, search launched hunting for their mothers and sisters.
The kidnapped victim, the karunakan from Ashtalakshmi Nagar in Velachery, has attacked Karthik aka ‘Ottai’ Karthik Sathyamurthy Nagar in Nandanam last year for previous hostilities, a police officer said.
On Thursday, the officer said, Karunakanan walked in Teynampet when Karthik, Devi, his mother and brother came close to the car and dragged him.
The vehicle drove to Thiruvanmiyur, said the officer based on the recognition of the people arrested.
Some spectators ran towards the vehicle when the karunakan shouted, but the car automatically left.
Along the way, the officer said, four people repeatedly attacked the carunakan after tying his hands and legs and also berated him.
When the vehicle stopped briefly near the Adigal Bridge Mariaimala on Satapet, four threw the fight to the edge of Adyar and escaped.
Some people see the karunakan struggling in mud and notify the control room.
Immediately, a Saidapet police team along with members of fire forces and rescue services rushed to the place and attracted the man’s attention.
He was taken to a government hospital.
A complaint was submitted and the police on Friday Nabbed Karthik and his sister from the hiding place after tracking it with the help of CCTV camera footage.
