Ahmedabad: Although the demand for high cars this year, dealers fail for cash due to supply constraints caused by global semiconductor deficiencies.
Data from the Federation of Automotive Dealer Association (FADA) shows that vehicle sales on Dussehra fell 7.7% in Gujarat this year, compared to last year’s purchase, when Covid’s pandemic went berserk and some limitations already existed.
About 6,800 cars and 19,500 two wheels were sent from showrooms throughout the state, according to Fada data.
It’s much lower than 21,000 ship deliveries and 7,500 two wheel delivery in Dussehra last year.
“The demand for the car is optimistic this year is clear from the remaining order number.
However, the dealer faces a serious inventory crisis, because the car maker cuts production.
As a result, dealers cannot fulfill the customer’s request and see sales again,” said Pranav Shah, regional chief Gujarat Fada.
Car dealers barely have ten days inventory and even then in-demand models are not available.
“I ordered my car and shipping it was expected to Dussehra, but because of some obstacles, I would receive shipments in Dhanteras now,” said a city-based professional who asked not to be named.
The company offers attractive discounts and dealers also offers incentives for drawing buyers.
“Good demand but lack of supply erodes our celebration season business.
A main obstacle is that customers cannot get their selected models and are forced to be satisfied with other models,” said Jigar Vyas, CEO of Dealers in Ahmedabad.
“For certain models, the waiting time has increased to eight months and we have stopped receiving orders.
We have told prospective customers to leave their contact details and we will return to them every time the car is available,” Vyas added.
Many dealers say that they expect shipping from producers in the second half of October and expect sales to be good in the Dhanteras-Diwali period.
Industrial players say the majority of buyers choose to finance and reduce payments.
Non-banking financing companies also offer interesting interest rates, said dealers.
Request two low wheels: As far as two-wheeled vehicles concerning the request is entered even with the reopening of some of the colleges.
“Student buyers contribute most of our customers.
However, with schools and colleges are not reopened, even Muhatat’s request is entered.
Simultaneously, vehicle ownership costs have increased significantly.
While vehicle costs increased by 20% due to the launch of the BS-VI regime, Fuel prices have increased the cost of ownership of two-wheeled vehicles significantly, “said Pranaav Shah, Chairman of the Gujarat region.
Dealers say that while high-end motorbikes have supply constraints due to lack of chips, middle-level models are very popular with two wheels without gear.
