Coimbatore: Self-financing and science art wants the Grants University (UGC) commission to calm the feasibility criteria for teachers at the undergraduate level.
Until now, the national feasibility test (clean) / state-level feasibility test (SLET) or PhD is a basic feasibility for teaching in arts and science colleges.
Representatives from College said they were struggling to appoint teachers at the undergraduate level for the teacher’s desire with nets or PhDs.
They want UGC to make a graduate with first class as a basic feasibility.
On Wednesday, the UGC extended the required PhD requirements to teach in universities and universities for two more than 2023, considering the pandemic.
Three years ago, the Union Government said that the PhD title would be a necessity from the academic year 2021-21.
While the Net / Slet will now be a basic feasibility criteria, the Association of Self-Financing Arts, Science and Management of Tamil Nadu (ASFASMTN) UGC UGC to make the Postgraduate as a minimum of eligible to teach undergraduate students in college.
“It is impossible to appoint teachers with nets / slets and PhDs in all arts and science colleges because we do not have a quantity of candidates who meet the requirements,” said Asfasmtn President Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan.
“Only a few students pass through nets or slets every year and many subjects have not been added on the Internet and Slets.
Without fixing such problems, the rules cannot be made mandatory,” he said.
“While teachers ideally must have a PhD and Net / Slet to teach graduate students or at the research level, it may not be needed to teach at the undergraduate level.” A representative said the college was rejected by affiliates with a new course of the University of Bharathiar, citing a lack of teachers with PhDs.
“But the university itself cannot fill empty faculty positions because of the lack of qualified teachers and have employed members of the guest faculty.
There may be no double standards for universities and universities,” added Ajeet.
