Coimbatore: City Police arrested a man on Friday for killing his 73rd father in Narayanasamy Street in Pealamedu on Thursday.
The police identified the victim as M Raju aka Durairaj.
“His wife R Rajeswari, 63, who worked as a domestic aid in Bharathi Colony, had found it to die in a blood circle around 14:00.
The neighbor told him that his son Raviraj, 50, had visited a house in a drunk condition and took a fight with Raju.
He Attack Raju and leave home, “said a police officer.
The Peellamedu police registered a case on Thursday night and sent the body to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for Postmortem.
“The initial question revealed that Raviraj, who was wearing a bloody blood shirt, had told some neighbors that he had killed his father.
We arrested him on Friday,” the officer added.
Raviraj, a private security guard based in Pealamedu, has separated from his wife a few years ago and lives alone in a rented house.
He was ordered under section 302 (murder) from the Indian punishment code and returned in judicial detention.
