Guwahati: A meeting was held at Goalpara College on October 8 for the memory of the former Deputy Principal of Lecture and the former Principal of the British School and Members of the Life of the Sahita Saikia Sahita Saikia Adedur Rahman Saikia.
Saikia, who is a personality that towered from Golapara, a researcher, a dedicated administrator and social worker, died on August 21.
The meeting was held under President Principal Principal Principal Lecture Subhash Barman in front of Dr.
Sidhinath Sarma, his deputy.
-Principal and head of the Geography Department, and Allume Brother Azzatur Rahman Saikia Azzatur Rahman.
A spokesman said the flower tribute to the dead soul was paid by Saikia’s wife, Akima Rahman Saikia.
Animal awards also paid by former MLA Dulal Ghosh, Jyotish Das, Joudinal Abedin, Abani Kumar Bhagabati from Gauhati University, Uttam Sarma (Head of the Pension Department of Assamese College) and GOALPARA KEGERPARA staff, GOALPARA GIRLS College School and Members of Assam Sahita Sabha and Assam Committee Goria Moria.
A book entitled “Sradhargha Abedur Rahman Saikia” was released by a senior citizen of goalkeeper and retired Professor Uttam Sarma.
Many officials like Dr.

Harendra Nath Sharma (Gauhati University), Dr.
Abani Bhagabati (University of Gahati), Dr.
Harendra Nath Sharma (Gauhati University), Dr.
Dinesh Bashya (B Borooh College), Mr.
Anup Kunar ), Mr.
Anup Kunar.
Roy (Deputy Supplementary Commissioner of the Destination District), SafiR Rahman Saikia (retired Chief Engineer PHE), among others who have a close relationship with Saikia attending the meeting.
Saikia, who took care of the growth of the Geography College Department as its founder, was also an active member of the Assam Movement.
One of his books, “GOALPARA LEFERI BOTOLA”, which describes the history of goal since the British period, was released by Dr.
Abani Kumar Bhagabati of Gu.
Two other Late Saikia books, including “Nirbasito Geet Aru Kobit”, were released at Guwahati Book Fair last January.
