Mangaluru: The newborn baby has complained to the police that Goschen’s government hospital is handed over to him a baby boy during the discharge, even though the hospital note shows that the mother gave birth to a girl.
Mushafa, a Koteshwara resident in Kundapur, told police that his wife Amreen had given birth to a ‘baby girl’ at the hospital on September 27.
In his complaint at the North Mangaluru police, Musthafa accused the hospital nurturing a baby in the ICU for 17 days and on Thursday handed a baby boy, not a girl while out.
“The hospital staff have told us that my wife gave birth to a baby girl.
The child shifted to Nicu because it was unhealthy.
Then, on Thursday, they gave a baby boy to us,” Mushafa said.
City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar confirmed the complaint, told reporters that the complainants and others were suspicious when the hospital handed over a baby boy.
“They have submitted a complaint and the Ministry of Health has verified documents.
They will also see other options such as DNA and other tests.
The final decision will only be taken after verifying all documents.
If they find that the baby is exchanged, we will take appropriate action.
So far, we have not moved any legal procedures, “he added.
Dr.
Durgaprasad Mr., Medical Inspector, Lady Goschen Government Hospital, told TII that babies born from Amren were boys and not a girl.
He also denied all the possibilities of babies exchanged as suspicion.
“Baby sex is wrongly written in a case sheet as a woman, not a man, and this has created confusion.
We have done investigations and actions will be taken against those responsible for errors,” he added.
