Bengaluru: After gasoline, for the first time the price of Diesel has touched a three-digit sign in the city.
Diesel now costs Rs 100 / Liter, up from Rs 64.4 / Liter in March 2020, an increase of rs 35.6 in 19 months.
Meanwhile, one liter of gasoline costs Rs 109.1 here on Saturday.
Bengaluru became the third metropolitan city after Mumbai and Hyderabad, where the price of diesel had violated the 100 rupee mark.
On Saturday, one liter of diesel costs RS 102.8 in Hyderabad, Rs 102.1 in Mumbai, Rs 98.6 in Chennai, RS 97.3 in Kolkata and Rs 94.2 in New Delhi.
In Karnataka, Diesel is being sold above Rs 101 per liter in the district such as Bellari, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Kodagu, Koppal, Shivamogga and Yadgir.
Oil Marketing Company (OMCS) revised fuel prices every day based on the price of global processed products and dollar exchange rates.
Fuel prices are also determined by shipping costs and purification, profit margins of oil marketing companies, dealer commissions, central tasks such as excise, and state assignments such as VAT and other taxes.
The truck driver said that diesel prices soared would result in an important and not essential commodity level surge.
Many taxi and private bus drivers and state transportation businesses (stus) also face a gloomy future.
