Guwahati: Local Court on Saturday sent Deputy Assam Deputy General (Excavation) Rounak Ali Hazarika, who was arrested on charges of having disproportionate assets, to judiciary 14 days after rejecting the assurance request.
CM Special Vigital Cell CM SP Rosie Kalita said, “We have been looking for four more days for the interrogation of the police because he (Hazarika) did not work with us during the investigation.

“Hazarika was released from GMCH (Guwahati Medical College Hospital) – where he underwent treatment for heart disease.
Kalita said, “The court observed that nothing had happened to him because of his normal health parameters.
The investigation had been ordered to ascertain whether he was really sick or he pretended.
The court had written to the DGP to start an investigation.” Previously in July, officer IPS was suspended for allegedly going abroad on several occasions, since 2011, without taking the permission needed from the department of the house.
