2 years, MVA has not released funds for work issued by Fadnivis Govt

Nagpur: The Government of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has not released funds for development work in the city approved by the previous Devendra Fadnivis regime two years ago.
As a result, 54 works are jammed in the middle.
After changing guards in the state, the Government of MVA LED Uddhav Thackeray stopped the Crore Dana RS169.31 approved by Fadnivis, then the ministerial head, for various projects in the city.
A senior official from the NMC Public Works Department confirmed that a lot of work, most of the cement road began during the Fadnivis regime stopped due to lack of funds.
He told Tii when Fadnivis was CM, NMC had proposed 93 development work throughout the city and seeking RS209.37 crore funds.
However, the government has provided a 91 work sanction worth RS169.31 Crore.
Although Fadnavis became CM in 2014, most of the work was approved by the state government in 2018 or 2019.
In hopes of getting funds from the state government, NMC has also started most of the work, including the rejuvenation of Sakkardara Lake, Cement on Khamla, and Jalan Semen Phase-III works among others.
Quoting an example, the official said for 85 different works, the Civic body has received ahead of the previous state government.
It also received approval from the RS96.96 Crore Fund for these works.
The Fadniv government has also released RS33.42 Crore to NMC.
Other big jobs that have stopped include RS11.9 Crore to build a Sahakar Nagar bridge, RS14 Crore for widening the bridge in Ayodhya Nagar to Jalan Ring Manewada near Jambudweep Nagar and Construction of Cemematorium Wathoda.
The MVA government also stopped the RS25 Crore special grant for Nagpur starting by Fadnivis.
Senior BJP leaders claim that job cuts from funds approved by the previous government have placed Nagpuria for discomfort.
NMC has carried out several follow-ups with the government urgent to release funds for postponed work, but in vain, official said.
