India, Israel agreed to continue negotiations on FTAs from next month

Jerusalem: India and Israel on Monday agreed to continue negotiations in the free trade agreement (FTA) from next month because both parties confidently to conclude the old agreement in June next year.
“It will be concluded in June next year,” Minister of External Affairs Jaisankar announced after he met alternative Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
Israel also joined the International Solar Alliance, a global initiative that India has pioneered, with Energy Minister Jaisankar and Israel Karine Elharrar signed the agreement.
To facilitate the trip between the two countries in the midst of Covid, India and Israel has also agreed to recognize each other’s vaccination certificate.
Jaisankar, who arrived here on Sunday on his first visit to the country, will also call President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
He will also hold talks with leading academics from all Israel, leaders of the business community and interact with the Indian Jewish community.
Jaisankar will also visit historical important places for India, showing its long-term presence in the region and the constructive role played in shaping the history of the region.
India and Israel enhance bilateral relations with strategic partnerships during the historic visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israel in July 2017.
Since then, the relationship between the two countries has focused on expanding knowledge-based partnerships, which include collaboration in innovation and research, including increasing the initiative ‘make In India ‘, the external ministry said in a statement before his departure.
