Kolkata: The power plant in the eastern region has recorded a growth of 8.4% to 13 October fiscal, while other regions register a decline of about 5%, the data of the Central Electric Authority shows.
All Indian thermal power plants fell 3.6% while the total generation was lower by 2.9% in the same period.
When some of the country’s bags wrestle with lack of power due to short coal supply, a thermal power plant is 9.5% higher and the output of Hydel’s sources with almost 1% in the eastern region until October 13.
In the north of the region, the total generation for the period fell 5% while thermal was lower by 6.4%.
Only nuclear power has recorded 3% growth in the northern region in the same period.
Data showed that the power plant until October 13 was registered by 5% in the western region, where thermal fell 4.7%, nuclear by 13.4%, and Hydro of 5.6%.
Data for the southern region shows that the total generation fell 5% while thermal slipped by 9.8%.
