Kolkata: After the increase in positive Covid cases, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has decided to cancel the leaves of all employees of the Ministry of Health to allow running all the vaccination clinics and Covid testing centers at 144 Wards from Tuesday and so on.
The decision was taken by the KMC Council Administrator for the interests of citizens who would need their second dose or want to be tested for Covid, said Atin Ghosh, members of the KMC BoA who oversees the Civic’s health department.
Previously, Civic Brass had decided to keep 90% of the urban primary health center closed until October 25.
However, because the Covid vaccination clinic was carried out from the health center and citizens this depends on them to be tested for Covid, this citizenship authority has decided to reopen these units from Tuesday.
According to Ghosh, the Civic body will want residents to take advantage of the benefits of the ongoing vaccination drive from the Civic Clinic.
The Civic’s body will also ask the public to take advantage of the RT-PCR test to determine the existence of Covid infection if they experience fever or suffer from symptoms such as Covid.
“We have decided to reopen our clinic before the schedule to allow citizens to use our ongoing vaccination drive.
Residents also have to take the opportunity to test themselves and be treated if they are fever or cold.
If our medical officers find symptoms like Covid In their patients, they can refer them to the Covid test that must be done earlier, “Ghosh said.
