Mangaluru: This is not the best time for air travel, except guaranteed, with airlines trying to compensate their losses, especially for trips to the Middle East.
Even a month after the UAE allows expatriates to return to work, the ticket price does not show signs.
For the next 75 days, the tariff is 150% higher one-way for flights stop by and more than Rs 200% for direct flights from all airports in India to Dubai and Sharjah, the main port enters the UAE.
Previously the Dubai – Mangaluru tariff showed a higher price trend because expatriates used to return home for the holiday season.
The rates are now half of what they do with no expatriates that take the risk of visiting India because of the turbulent pandemic situation.
But the trend also changed with flight airlines full airlights and Dubai-India rates are also on the rise.
The airline source told TI rates would not return to the pre-pandemic level in the near future or at least over the next three months.
“The airline has suffered the worst and tried to make their losses by keeping a double rate of pre-pandemic levels,” added the source.
Consider this, the cost of Mangaluru-Dubai during the months of pre-pandemic was November to December the first week was formerly sub-rs of 10,000.
Now it is in the range of Rs 21,000 to 25,000, 250% to travel until January 9.
The trip to Dubai from Bengaluru is also not cheap and rates above RS 20,000 to January 10.
From Mumbai to Dubai, it was excessive by Rs 17,000.
Even from New Delhi is above RS 10,000 – Rs 12,000.
All of these lower rates for Swayover flights and direct flights cost a few thousand more.
If a passenger from this region wants a cheaper fee of other airports, it will need difficulties in additional travel costs plus calculations into the 48 hour RT-PCR deadline as mandated by the UAE government.
The trip back from Dubai to India, though not that far before the pandemic, if not ordered far before, also tends to go through the roof when the trip date is getting closer.
Even with high rates, all flights from Mangaluru to Dubai will be full and returning flights have a passenger load of 90%.
