Trichy: A fisherman from Kottaipattinam in the Pulajottai district sank at sea after the Sri Lankan Navy crashed into a fishing boat where he was with two other people involved in fishing on Monday night.
The Sri Lankan Navy also took out fishermen’s body after several hours of search took the body to the island country along with two other fishermen, which was arrested.
According to the source of the coastal security group in Kottaipattinam, the victim has been identified as R Rajkiran, 30.
Rajkiran along with S Suganthan, 23 and Xavier, 32, all from Kottaipattinam have traveled to the sea on Monday morning in a trawder owned by S Sureshkumar, 39.
About 19 miles of sea from Kottaipattinam Beach, Sri Lankan naval patrol boat on the boat around 7pm.
In the impact, the three men were thrown into water and trawls began to sink, the police said.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan Navy stated on his official website that they saved Suganthan and Xavier from the waters across the western international maritime boundary line from the covilan lighthouse.
The Navy conducted a search to find out the missing Rajkiran after the incident.
PMK leader Ramadoss and TMC Leader G K Vasan condemned the Sri Lankan Navy for the incident.
On his official Twitter account, Ramadoss said that actions must be taken against the Sri Lankan Navy.
Cases must be registered with naval personnel.
TMC leader G K Vasan said that the government and the state government must compensate for the fishermen’s family who died.
