Washington: The White House clarified Friday that there were no changes in US policy in Taiwan after President Joe Biden promised to defend the island of Chinese attacks, making Beijing.
“The President does not announce changes in our policy and there are no changes in our policy,” said a White House spokesman.
The United States will come to the Taiwan defense and have a commitment to maintain the claims of the island of China as its own territory, US President Joe Biden said on Thursday.
“Yes, we have a commitment to do that,” said Biden in a CNN City Hall when asked whether the United States will come to the Taiwan defense, which complained about the military and political pressure from Beijing to receive Chinese sovereignty.
While Washington was required by the law to give Taiwan by defending himself, he had long followed the “Strategic Ambiguity” policy on whether to carry out military intervention to protect Taiwan at that time.
