Tokyo: Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida made arrangements to try and attend the UN climate conference.
Starting starting on October 31 at Glasgow, the Yomiuri daily reported on Saturday.
His presence at the COP26 climate summit will mark a trip abroad for Kishida, which is the premier earlier this month and currently leads his party through lower house selection which is also set for October 31.
Kishida will immediately choose Glasgow.
Calculate start, but he can cancel the journey depending on the results of the election, the report said.
Polling shows that the ruling liberal Democratic Party tends to lose seats but maintain the majority as a coalition in power with their partners, the Komeito Party.
Kishida previously said that he wanted to attend the Summit remotely.
