Mumbai: Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray on Friday criticized the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), said the impression was being created as if Maharashtra had become a narcotics center.
“The impression is being made as if there is a wave of drug trafficking in Maharashtra, as if drugs from all over the world are produced in Maharashtra, and only a special team that can disturb the racket.
But it’s not true,” Thackeray said, talking virtually on the inauguration The first wildlife DNA testing laboratory in Nagpur and three DNA track testing tracks quickly under the NIRBHAY scheme to test the sample of human DNA in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur Forensic Labs.
Thackeray said he was proud of Maharashtra and Mumbai police for their efforts to maintain the threat of drugs checked.
“A few days ago, Mumbai police arrested Heroin worth Rs 25 Crore, but because there was no hero involved in it, no one was talking about that.
No one knows the names of the police.
We have to remote them,” Thackeray said .
He said Maharashtra police were strong and competent forces, and tight actions were taken against anyone who violated the law, without any punishment shown.
“Efforts are made to tarnish the image of this Maharashtra police, and we must stop this effort,” Thackeray said.
NCB has arrested several people, including the son of Actor Shah Rukh Khan Aryan, in the case of a drug bust.
Meanwhile, Minister of State House was banned Walse Patil said the state government would likely display the final draft of the Shakti law that prescribes strict penalties for crimes against women and children in the upcoming winter legislative session in December.
Thackeray said that while the country wants to provide strict penalties for crimes against women and children, cases fall many times to want evidence, and the DNA testing unit will help the country with strong evidence so that tight punishment can be given.
He said the DNA Wildlife DNA testing laboratory in Nagpur would help in dealing with animal hunting cases.
“We want state police equipped with the latest technology to become one step before criminals,” he said.
