Bhubaneswar: Police on Saturday captured Suspendes Bhubaneswar Constable and Havildar Association President Prasnana Behera on charges of running a bar at South City Hotel without a license and violation of Norma Covid-19.
Along with him the owner of the Bar Pradyumna Jena and manager Sourabh Jain was arrested.
The South City Hotel came under the police scanner after Anurag Manish, son of senior journalist Navin Das, was killed after a late fight at the bar on the bill payment.
On Friday, Pramod Pattasayak, the Inspector was responsible for the Tomando police station where the hotel and bar fell, was transferred to the headquarters for the dereltioning assignment because the bar functions without a license and walked late at night, namely a violation of the norm pandemic.
Apart from being ordered under several sections of excise not to get a license to run the bar, the Behera police and the other two have been arrested for violating the rules of the pandemic.
They have also been ordered based on part 34 (general intentions) and 120 (b) criminal conspiracy.
“We also found evidence they spoiled in extortion,” said DCP Uma Shankar Das.
Manish had gone to the bar on October 9 and his body was found floating in the pool close to the hotel the following day.
