Margao: To take over the lack of labor with the Directorate of Settlement and Land Note (DSLR), the State Revenue Department has outsourced the task of verification of places that are made based on the Law for Forestry Rights (FRA) and the subsequent land demarcation for private agents, Minister of Welfare Tribal Govind Gaude said.
“The DSLR surveyor team will be able to complete only 2-3 spot verification cases in a day and this will result in delaying disposal of claims.
The government has now appointed a private agent for this task.
This file is delayed for financial approval by the government,” said Gaude told reporters on the day Friday on the sidelines of a function that is owned to submit sanads under FRA to 27 beneficiaries at the South Collectorate Goa, Margao.
Of the 10,136 claims received by the government under the FRA, currently 46 sanad has been issued for beneficiaries.
Gaude said that he hoped that outsourcing verification exercises where private agents would help speed up the problem.
Agency has been asked to complete the task in a year.
Gaude also urges people and stakeholders to ensure that the Sabhas gram meets the requirements of the quorum to approve the remaining FRA claims.
Of the total 10,136 claims, spot verification has been completed for 4,043 claims, while 1,614 claims have been approved by the Sabhas gram and 549 claims have been approved by the sub-division level committee, while 387 claims are resolved by the district level committee.
12 of the claims of land rights have been rejected.
27 Beneficiaries submitted to their sanads with gaude in the function in the presence of South Goa collector Ruchika Katyal, Director of Tribal Trivare Velasp, Deputy Collector, Ponda, Pradeep Increases, senior forestry department officials and other officials.
