Gurgaon: To make traffic moving at a smooth speed in the midst of a surge in the possibility of shopping at the Gods, the Gurgaon Traffic Department will spread the fast action traffic team (RATTS) in each of the four city zones, especially the barriers of 10-15 points, from Monday.
The teams, each consisted of five members – a Challan officer and four police officers – will be accompanied by two to three road safety officers (RSOs) as well.
Ratt will monitor traffic, parking men and also empowered to issue Challans under motor vehicle law, officials said.
“Given the festival season, we have described several points of congestion.
RSO will support us during rush hour (from 5pm to 9pm) every day.
The aim is to ensure that commuters do not have to wait long in traffic,” DCP (traffic ) Ravinder Singh Tomar said, added that they had also conducted a trial at all congestion points to ensure a smooth traffic flow.
Among the main congestion points are Galleria, Super Mart, Basai Chowk, 15 Road Sector, Sector 16-17 Road, Kanhai Chowk, Vatika Chowk, Taman Mayfield T-Point, Sapphire Mall, Conscious Bazar, Railway Road, Metro Station Huda City Center , Sirhaul Toll, Banjara Market, Sector 56, Artemis, Badshapur Village, Himgiri Chowk (Jalan Pataudi), Mahavir Chowk, Daultabad Flyover and Atul Kataria Chowk.
